Host of the IPT 2008 Tour Championships
The legendary
members only Horseshoe Bay Resort has been
has again been selected as host of the 2008
International Players Tour year-end tour championships. Horseshoe Bay,
an exclusive playground of privileges for more
than 30 years, will prove an exciting venue to host the
largest IPT events of the year.

that roller-coaster through the hills west of Austin.

Pro Series Open
Championship Information
The
2008 Horseshoe Bay Open championship will be held on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 18-20, 2008. This
second annual championship will provide open competition
for both Senior players age 47 and up and for any player, excluding
current Nationwide & PGA players, who desires to enter
the open pro event.
The event is open to
both tour members and non-members alike. Total purses
will be based on the final player counts with first
place expected to provide winner checks approaching the
$10,000 mark. Special cash
optional games for Gross Skins and "Lame Duck" day money
will be available providing additional opportunities for
players to cash.

Horseshoe Bay Senior Open
Championship Information
The
second annual Senior Tour championship features a 54-hole
event certain to bring the best to the front. This is
the final official Senior Tour event of the year and is open to members only.
Entrants must be an IPT Senior Tour member and have
competed in at least one Senior Tour event during 2008.
Competition will be held on Friday, Saturday & Sunday,
Nov. Nov. 21-23, 2008 in conjunction with the 2008 Net
Division Tour Championship. The 54-hole final will crown
the Senior Tour champion with the largest prize check of
2008. Senior Tour members may also compete in the Net
Division Tour Championship at the same time providing
they have successfully qualified to enter.
2008 Net
Division Tour Championship Information
2008 brings the seventh annual Net (Handicap) Division
tour championship for IPT members. The 54-hole
championship event will take place
Friday through Sunday, Nov. 21-23, 2008.
As with all
majors, competition will also be available for Scratch
and Senior scratch division players. Entry fee is
estimated between $525-$595 and includes all golf, prize
fund and event related expenses. Saturday night
entertainment and an awards banquet on the final day of
competition are also included. Multiple cash optional
games will also be available.
To date, this event alone has paid out
over $250,000 to players with handicaps ranging from
+1 to 23, demonstrating all players have an equal
opportunity to win. The 2008 event is expected to
generate a total purse exceeding $100,000! 2007 Champion,
Tony Peterson, from Blytheville, Arkansas, brought home over $17,000 in
total winnings
competing at scratch with a zero handicap with the total
EVENT payout exceeding $71,000!
The 2008 Net Division Tour Championship pays the winner
a
$20,000.00
GUARANTEED first place prize. In addition, a new “Flight Bonus” cash prize of
$2,000 will be awarded, an increase of $500 over the
2007 award. Additional prize fund awards are distributed
to a minimum of 30% of the field.
For flight bonus purposes, the field will be separated
into two equal flights based on the overall handicap
average of the field at large. The flight bonus will be
awarded to the highest finisher in the flight not
producing the overall event winner. This prize is in
addition to his/her place position winnings from his/her
finish overall.
Entry fee into the 2008 Tour Championship qualifying is
only $95. This fee covers prize fund and other event
related expenses and the player's first attempt at
qualifying. Players attempting to qualify in other than
a regularly schedule IPT tour stop are responsible for
their green fee.
How do I Qualify?
The
2008 qualifying process has been simplified over that
utilized previously. Players simply enter their desired
qualifier as an optional game in any scheduled IPT tour
stop. Players who enter the qualifying and also finish
in the money in the event qualify to
compete for the
GUARANTEED $20,000.00
first place prize.
In the event a player fails to qualify, they may make
additional attempts. A $45 qualifier re-try fee must be
submitted prior to each subsequent attempt. On second
and subsequent attempts players need only post a score
of net even par to qualify.
Qualifying Exemptions &
Eligibility
2008 qualifying
exemptions will be awarded to each Net Division
multi-round event
winner. Exempt players must pay the appropriate
qualifying fee and entry fee into the final. Players who
have began the qualifying process prior to winning their
exemption will be credited for any fees paid beyond the
initial qualifying fee.
Any player entering the 2008 Tour Championship in
addition to qualifying, must meet the following
"Eligibility" requirements:

Be a 2008 tour member in good standing.

Compete in six single round events, not including
stand-alone qualifiers, during the 2008 season.

Compete in one multi-round event during the 2008
season.

Post eight event
scores during 2008 if no program is established in
your immediate area.
